By now, the "MINI" moniker is starting to become almost a misnomer given how much the iconic compacts have grown since their resurgence in the past decade. MINIs have been getting bigger and bigger lately, and one of the best examples of how this is a great thing, is the 2017 MINI Clubman.

This year, the MINI Clubman lineup includes the classic Hardtop 2 Door, the Hardtop 4 Door, the soft-top Convertible, and the four-door Clubman. All-wheel drive is an option, and the familiar barn doors at the rear remain. The three-door hardtop, or hatch, is 150.4 inches long for the 2017 Clubman, and the four-door is 156.8 inches, and the Clubman is 168.3 inches long.
Under the hood, the 2017 MINI Cooper Clubman gets two engine options for the most recent model. These include a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder engine that gets 134 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque, a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder on the Cooper S that gets 189 hp and 206 lb-ft of torque, power enough to get the 2017 Clubman from 0 to 60 mph in the mid-6-second range and an impressive top speed of 140 mph. It comes with either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed Steptronic transmission with paddle shifters.
The 2017 Clubman's drives just like you'd expect a MINI to handle, and the BMW engineers kept up the performance needed to make these tiny cars a fun ride. The suspension has been revised for added stiffness, and both a sport suspension and Dynamic Damper Control come optional. They've also given it a more extensive use of aluminum, meaning the new 2017 Clubman isn't too much heavier than previous generations, and have added their AWD system, ALL4, to the new Clubman. This system directs 100% of the torque to the front wheels, but power can be sent to the rear wheels if any slip is detected.Â
Added features for the new model range from the classic rear barn doors, adaptive LED headlights, LED foglights, and a panoramic sunroof.Â
